Govt Extends Special Subsidy on DAP Price of 50 kg bag should be 1350 PM Modi


In the New Year, the Central Government has taken many important decisions for the welfare of farmers till 2025. In the meeting of the Union Cabinet chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, approval was given to continue the Pradhan Mantri Crop Insurance Scheme and Weather Based Crop Insurance Scheme till 2025-26. For this, the government has allocated a total of Rs 69515.71 crore.

Relief in DAP prices

Another important decision was taken in the cabinet meeting in which the government decided to give 50 kg bag of DAP fertilizer to the farmers for Rs 1350. For this, the government has decided to give additional subsidy of Rs 3850 crore on DAP. This step has been taken due to the increase in fertilizer prices in the international market so that farmers do not suffer any loss due to this.

Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav told in the briefing that the government has decided to give a special package on DAP from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2025. Under this, farmers will get DAP fertilizer at the rate of Rs 1350 for a 50 kg bag.

Emphasis on farmers’ welfare

Minister Vaishnav said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has dedicated the first cabinet meeting of 2025 to the farmers. In this meeting, many important issues related to farmers were discussed and the decisions taken were focused on the welfare of the farmers. He said that the allocation under the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme has been increased to Rs 69515 crore so that farmers can get more benefits from this scheme.

800 crore fund for Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme

Regarding the Prime Minister Crop Insurance Scheme, Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said that the government has decided to create a fund of Rs 800 crore for speedy assessment and innovation in claim settlement. Along with this, it has also been decided to make this scheme completely digital so that the enrollment and coverage process can be easier for the farmers.

We are proud of all our farmer brothers and sisters who work hard to feed our country. The first cabinet of 2025 is dedicated to increasing the prosperity of our government’s farmers.
